Definitions
 
Psychologist—A psychologist is a professional trained to assess, diagnose, and treat problems. Psychologists are trained to understand behaviors, thoughts, and feelings and to help individuals develop new patterns of behaving, thinking, and feeling.
 
Psychoanalyst—A psycholanalyst is trained under the auspices of the American Psychoanalytic Association and have had rigours and extensive clinical education. Candidates can be physicians, psychologist, social workers or hold a clinical masters degree in a mental health field. All are Licensed in the State of Minnesota to conduct therapy.
